As the live fossil, giant panda is unique animal of China. Its tenderness, kindness and funniness make it to be one of the favorite animals for human being, and now giant panda is chosen to be the symbol of world wildlife fund.
More than 100,000 years ago, many giant pandas had ever lived in the east part of China, with the extinction of other species, giant panda remains to now and keeps the original characters, so it is called live fossil.
The length of adult giant panda is between 120cm and 180 cm, the length of tail is between 10cm and 12cm, the broad of shoulder is between 60cm and 70cm and the weight is between 60kg and 73kg. Giant panda is fat and has strong arms, round head, small ears, short lips and short tail. With black ears on the top of the head, one black belt spreads from the shoulder to the front legs an the color is changing into more broad. The back legs are black also, except some brown or black in the breast, the other par is all white.
Now there are 5 giant pandas in SWAP, one female called Jia Si, 21 years old, the male one called Guo Qing, 4 years old. This year 3 sub-adult giant pandas were introduced from Wo Long to SWAP, so we have most giant pandas in China.
As the national baby, giant pandas have the good treatment including comfortable exhibit hall and many activities. Since we introduced 3 new guests this year, many new facilities were installed to keep them more healthy. It is better to watch giant panda playing outdoor than watch them indoor through the glass，this change has brought our park better social and economic effect.
